Mercedes-AMG GT rental in Marbella: what to drive instead?

Mercedes-AMG GT rental in Marbella is something we cannot offer: the car is not in the MARBIORA fleet, and we will not promise to find you one for your dates. What we do have are four cars with more power than an AMG GT 63: the Audi R8 and BMW M8 at €650 for one day, the Aston Martin Vantage V8 at €1,100 and the Lamborghini Huracán EVO at €1,200.

What is the Mercedes-AMG GT, and which versions exist?

The Mercedes-AMG GT is
a two-door, front-engined sports coupé, with a 2+2 cabin in its second generation, known as the C192. According to the Wikipedia entry on the Mercedes-AMG GT (C192), it was unveiled at Pebble Beach on 19 August 2023 and is built in Sindelfingen, Germany. That entry lists four versions, each with a nine-speed automatic:
Version Engine Drive Power Torque 0 to 100 km/h Top speed
GT 43 2.0-litre turbo four, mild hybrid Rear 421 PS 500 Nm 4.6 s 280 km/h
GT 55 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 All-wheel 476 PS 700 Nm 3.9 s 295 km/h
GT 63 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 All-wheel 585 PS 800 Nm 3.2 s 315 km/h
GT 63 S E Performance 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, plug-in hybrid All-wheel 816 PS 1,420 Nm 2.8 s 320 km/h

That is a wide range, with almost 400 PS between the GT 43 and the plug-in hybrid. All four of our cars make more power than the GT 43, GT 55 and GT 63, and the Huracán EVO and Audi R8 also beat them from 0 to 100 km/h. None gets near the 816 PS of the GT 63 S E Performance, so the fleet has no equivalent to that version.

Which car in the fleet is closest to an AMG GT 63?

The BMW M8 is closest in layout and the Aston Martin Vantage in engine, while the Audi R8 and Huracán EVO are a different kind of car. The table uses factory data: the AMG GT 63 from the entry above, the others from the Wikipedia entries on the BMW 8 Series (G15), Aston Martin Vantage, Audi R8 (Type 4S) and Lamborghini Huracán.

Factory figure AMG GT 63 BMW M8 Competition Aston Martin Vantage (2024) Audi R8 V10 performance quattro Lamborghini Huracán EVO

0 to 100 km/h 3.2 s 3.2 s 3.5 s 3.1 s 2.9 s

Our fleet listings do not name the factory version of the R8 or the M8, so the table shows the version whose power matches the listing.

BMW M8: the same sprint, and five seats

A twin-turbo V8 up front, all-wheel drive and 3.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h: on those three counts the M8 matches the AMG GT 63, with 40 PS more and 50 Nm less. It is also the only one of the four with more than two seats, five according to our fleet listing, against the 2+2 of the Mercedes. M8 production ended in 2025, and the BMW M8 based in Puerto Banús dates from that year.

Aston Martin Vantage: an engine straight from AMG

Under the Vantage bonnet sits an AMG engine. Wikipedia says it uses the M177, Mercedes-AMG's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, and the same engine code appears against the AMG GT 63. Both are rated at 800 Nm. The rest of the car is another matter: the Vantage is a two-seater with rear-wheel drive, and it takes 3.5 seconds, three tenths longer. Our 2026 Aston Martin Vantage V8 is based in Puerto Banús.

Audi R8 and Huracán EVO: two mid-engined V10s

These two sit furthest from the AMG GT, because the engine goes behind the seats, and it is a naturally aspirated V10 with no turbos. They have less torque, 580 Nm and 601 Nm against 800 Nm, and they accelerate faster, in 3.1 and 2.9 seconds. Both are 2022 two-seaters based in Marbella. For one day, the Audi R8 in our fleet costs €550 less than the Lamborghini Huracán EVO.

How much does each alternative cost for one day?

One day costs between €650 and €1,200 depending on the car, and this table shows our own fleet figures, with the one-day rate, base and deposit. The deposit on the BMW M8 and Aston Martin Vantage V8 is not published: the amount reaches you in writing with the booking confirmation, before any payment.

Car Year Seats Power in listing 0 to 100 km/h Base Price for 1 day Deposit
Audi R8 2022 2 620 PS 3.1 s Marbella €650 €5,000
BMW M8 2025 5 625 PS 3.2 s Puerto Banús €650 In the confirmation
Aston Martin Vantage V8 2026 2 680 PS 3.5 s Puerto Banús €1,100 In the confirmation
Lamborghini Huracán EVO 2022 2 640 PS 2.9 s Marbella €1,200 €5,000

Does the daily price drop on a longer hire?

Yes for the Audi R8 and Huracán EVO, which have a published rate for every length of hire. The BMW M8 and Aston Martin Vantage V8 have only a published one-day price, so a longer hire on either car is worked out for your dates and confirmed in writing.

Length of hire Audi R8 Lamborghini Huracán EVO
1 day €650 €1,200
2 days, per day €650 €1,200
3 to 6 days, per day €600 €1,150
7 to 14 days, per day €550 €1,100
15 to 30 days, per day €550 €1,100
30 days or more, per day €450 €850

A week in the Lamborghini costs exactly double: €7,700 against €3,850 for the Audi R8. Over 30 days, the R8 comes to €13,500 and the Huracán EVO to €25,500. On our listings these are two cars with the same type of engine, 20 PS and two tenths apart, so anyone comparing only the numbers will struggle to justify the second. The badge is a separate question, and that one is yours.

Which of the four alternatives should you choose?

The choice comes down to how many of you are travelling and which factory figure you care about most; the budget comes after that. All four share the same insurance, delivery and rules, so none of that tips the balance. Depending on what drew you to an AMG GT, this is how they map:

  • for more than two people, the BMW M8, the only one with five seats;
  • for the GT 63's front engine and all-wheel drive, also the BMW M8;
  • for the M177 V8 with 800 Nm, the Aston Martin Vantage V8 at €1,100 for one day;
  • for the lowest spend without giving up acceleration, the Audi R8, with 3.1 seconds at €650;
  • for the fastest sprint on the list, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO, with 2.9 seconds.

If it is the AMG badge you are after, the fleet carries it only on SUVs: the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, with 585 PS like the GT 63, at €850 for one day, and the GLE53 AMG, with 449 PS, at €650. Our guide to Mercedes rental in Marbella brings them all together. Neither is a coupé.

What does the rate include, and which rules apply?

Every rate includes comprehensive insurance, free delivery and collection in Marbella, Puerto Banús or Málaga Airport, and 150 km a day, which adds up to 1,050 km in a week and 4,500 km in a month. Fuel is extra: the car arrives full and goes back full. On the Audi R8 and Huracán EVO, each extra kilometre costs €5; on the M8 and Vantage, the price is in your confirmation.

Drivers must be 25 or older and have held a licence for at least three years. At handover we check the licence and the passport or ID card, and the deposit is blocked on a credit card in the main driver's name; it is not charged. The insurance excess depends on the model and is stated in the booking confirmation, so you see the figure before you pay anything.

Track days, driving courses and the ferry to Morocco are not allowed in any car in the fleet. No exceptions, and that includes the Huracán EVO. Gibraltar and Portugal are possible if the trip is arranged with the insurer in advance, so mention your route when you book. The minimum hire is one day, and no car has an hourly rate.

How do you book one of these alternatives?

Booking takes one message and a written confirmation, and nothing is paid on the website. A request is not yet a booking, so you can ask about several cars for the same dates with no commitment. These are the steps:

  1. Pick the car and dates in the fleet, where you can compare up to three cars at once.
  2. Send the car, dates, time, delivery address and each driver's name by WhatsApp, phone or email.
  3. Receive availability, the total price, the deposit and the insurance excess in writing the same day.
  4. On the agreed day, the car arrives full, clean and photographed at your villa, hotel, marina or the airport terminal.
  5. We check the documents, block the deposit and sign the contract in about ten minutes.

To ask about dates for any of the four, write to us from the MARBIORA contact page or on WhatsApp. The reply comes the same day with the exact price for your dates, and until then you have committed to nothing at all.

Questions on this topic

No. The Mercedes-AMG GT is not part of the fleet, and we do not promise to bring one in for particular dates. What we can offer instead is the BMW M8, Audi R8, Aston Martin Vantage V8 or Lamborghini Huracán EVO, with availability and price confirmed in writing the day you ask.

There is no AMG coupé. The Mercedes cars on the coast with AMG in their name are SUVs, such as the G63 AMG with 585 PS at €850 for one day and the GLE53 AMG with 449 PS at €650. For a low sports car, the fleet offers other makes instead.

The Audi R8 and BMW M8 cost the same, €650 for one day. The Audi R8 also has a published long-hire scale: €550 a day from 7 to 30 days and €450 a day from 30 days. For the BMW M8, the price of a longer hire reaches you in writing.

Yes. Delivery and collection are free in Marbella, Puerto Banús and at Málaga Airport, whichever base the car comes from, and the price stays the same wherever you meet it. The car reaches your villa, hotel or the terminal at the agreed time with a full tank.

No. Every driver must be 25 or older and have held a licence for at least three years, and this applies to all four cars in this article. If someone else in your group meets both requirements, they can be the main driver, with the deposit on a credit card in their name.
