The BMW 430i Cabrio is not in the MARBIORA fleet and we cannot source one. For convertible car rental in Marbella there are three cars: the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio at €300 for one day, the Porsche 992 Carrera 4S Targa at €800 and the Ferrari Portofino Blue at €1,300, all with full insurance.

Convertible car rental in Marbella: which cars and what prices?

The BMW 430i Cabrio is not in the MARBIORA fleet, and we cannot source one for your dates. For convertible car rental in Marbella we have three cars: the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio at €300 for one day, the Porsche 992 Carrera 4S Targa at €800 and the Ferrari Portofino Blue at €1,300. All three rates include full insurance, 150 km a day and free delivery in Marbella, Puerto Banús or Málaga Airport.

How much does it cost to rent a convertible in Marbella?

One day with a convertible from our coastal fleet costs between €300 and €1,300, depending on the model. All three cars have four seats, and each one handles the roof differently. None of them has a published rate per rental length, so the price for several days is worked out for your dates and confirmed in writing the same day:

Car Year Seats Power 0 to 100 km/h Roof Base Price for 1 day Deposit
Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio 2026 4 381 hp 4.7 s Fabric soft top Puerto Banús €300 In the booking confirmation
Porsche 992 Carrera 4S Targa 2026 4 480 hp 3.5 s Targa Marbella €800 In the booking confirmation
Ferrari Portofino Blue 2020 4 600 hp 3.5 s Retractable hard top Marbella €1,300 €5,000

The CLE Cabrio and the Portofino are €1,000 apart for a single day, and the Mercedes at €300 has the lowest one-day rate in the whole coastal fleet. The base only tells you where the car is kept. Delivery is free in Marbella, Puerto Banús and Málaga Airport, so the CLE based in Puerto Banús reaches a Marbella villa just the same.

Which car should you pick if you wanted a BMW 430i Cabrio?

If you were looking to rent a BMW 430i Cabrio, the closest car in our fleet is the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio, since both are convertibles with a fabric roof. According to Wikipedia's page on the BMW 4 Series, the 430i uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine rated at 258 PS. The CLE in our fleet makes 381 hp and costs €300 for one day.

If the badge is the deciding factor, the answer is no: we will not promise you a 430i Cabrio to order. The only BMW in the coastal fleet is the 2025 BMW M8, a 625 hp coupé based in Puerto Banús, at €650 for one day and with no open roof. Our guide to renting the BMW M8 in Marbella covers that car in detail.

If open-air driving was what drew you to the 430i Cabrio, the Porsche Targa and the Ferrari Portofino are also worth a look. Both go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, against 4.7 seconds for the CLE Cabrio. In exchange, they cost €800 and €1,300 for one day, more than two and a half times and more than four times the CLE's rate.

What is a convertible, and what is a Targa roof?

A convertible is
a car whose roof folds away or comes off so you can drive in the open air, and the mechanism varies from model to model. Our coastal fleet has three different systems, and each manufacturer publishes its own opening figures. This table sums up those factory numbers, which describe the model rather than anything we measured on our own cars:
Car Roof type Open or close While moving Luggage space
Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio Fabric soft top 20 s Up to 60 km/h 385 l (295 l with the top down)
Porsche 992 Carrera 4S Targa Movable section over the front seats 19 s No figure in Porsche's release No figure
Ferrari Portofino Blue Retractable hard top 14 s At low speed 292 l
A Targa roof is
a movable section above the front seats, with a wide roll hoop behind it and a wraparound rear window that both stay in place. That puts the Porsche somewhere between a coupé and a convertible. Anyone who wants fresh air in the back seats as well should look at the CLE Cabrio's soft top or the Portofino's hard top, which open up the whole cabin.

Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio with a fabric soft top

Mercedes-Benz says in its press release on the CLE Cabriolet, carried by eMercedesBenz that the soft top opens and closes within 20 seconds at speeds up to 60 km/h. The Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio in our fleet is a 2026 car with 381 hp and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.7 seconds, and its deposit is stated in the booking confirmation.

Porsche 992 Carrera 4S Targa with a movable roof

Porsche's release on the 992-generation 911 Targa gives 19 seconds to open or close the roof and lists all-wheel drive as standard. It mentions no operating speed, so plan to work the roof with the car stopped. The Porsche Carrera 4S Targa in our fleet is a 2026 car with 480 hp, based in Marbella.

Ferrari Portofino Blue with a hard top

Ferrari's press kit on the Portofino says the roof opens or closes in 14 seconds, even on the move at lower speeds. It quotes 292 litres of luggage space: three cabin trolleys with the roof up and two with it down. The fleet car is from 2020 with 600 hp, and our guide to renting the Ferrari Portofino in Marbella goes through its routes and costs.

Which of the three convertibles suits your trip?

All three cars come with the same insurance and the same delivery, so the choice comes down to budget and luggage first, then to how you want to open the roof. These recommendations follow directly from the fleet rates and from the figures each manufacturer publishes:

  • to spend the least for one day, the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio at €300;
  • to carry more luggage with the roof up, the CLE Cabrio, with 385 litres against 292 litres in the Portofino;
  • to reach 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds for less money, the Porsche Targa, €500 a day cheaper than the Ferrari;
  • for the most power in the group, the Ferrari Portofino with 600 hp;
  • to work the roof on the move at a stated speed, the CLE Cabrio, up to 60 km/h.

Four seats do not always mean four comfortable adults on a long drive. Ferrari describes the Portofino's two rear seats as suitable for short trips, which matters before you book it for a family or a group of friends. If four of you are travelling, say so in your message and mention how much luggage you are bringing.

What does the price include, and what do you pay separately?

Every rate includes the car, full insurance for any rental length, delivery, collection, a full clean before handover, a single phone number for the whole rental and 150 km a day. The insurance excess depends on the model and appears in the booking confirmation before any payment, so you can read it before you commit to anything.

Fuel, kilometres over the limit, traffic fines and tolls are paid separately, and the last two carry an administrative fee for handling them. The car arrives with a full tank and goes back full. If that is a nuisance on your last morning, we can refuel it for you at the pump price instead.

The 150 km a day add up to 1,050 km in a week and 4,500 km in a month. In the Ferrari Portofino, each extra kilometre costs €5, so a 200 km day adds €250 to the rate. For the CLE Cabrio and the Porsche Targa, that price appears in the booking confirmation, so read it before you plan a long day out.

What do you need to drive a rented convertible?

The conditions are the same for all three cars. Every driver must be 25 or older and have held a licence for at least three years. At handover, the licence and passport or ID card of each driver are checked. A licence issued in the EU or EEA is valid in Spain while it remains in force, and licences issued outside the EU also need an International Driving Permit.

The deposit depends on the model and stays the same however long you rent. It is €5,000 for the Ferrari Portofino, and for the CLE Cabrio and the Porsche Targa the amount appears in the booking confirmation. It is blocked on a credit card in the main driver's name and released once the car is back and checked. Our guide to the car rental deposit in Marbella explains the process.

How far can you go in a rented convertible?

You can drive on public roads across Spain, and Gibraltar and Portugal are possible if the trip is arranged with the insurer in advance, so mention your route when you book. The same limit of 150 km a day applies abroad. The ferry to Morocco is not allowed with any car in the fleet, and neither is taking the car out of Spain without prior agreement.

Track days, driving courses and any form of competition use are off the table, private track days included. No exceptions. Only the people named in the contract may drive, and additional drivers are insured on the same terms if you give their names before handover. Would you rather sit back with the roof open? A chauffeur can be arranged with any of the three cars.

How do you book a convertible in Marbella?

Booking any of the three convertibles takes a message and a written confirmation, and nothing is paid on the website. The minimum rental is one day and there is no hourly rate. A request is not yet a booking: nothing is reserved until it has been confirmed in writing. The process follows these steps:

  1. Pick the car and your dates in the fleet, where you can compare up to three cars side by side.
  2. Send the car, the dates, the time, the delivery address and the name of every driver by WhatsApp, phone or email.
  3. Receive availability, the total price, the deposit and the insurance excess in writing the same day.
  4. On the agreed day, the car arrives with a full tank, cleaned and photographed, at your villa, hotel, marina or the Málaga Airport terminal.
  5. Documents are checked, the deposit is blocked and the contract is signed in about ten minutes.

At the end of the rental, the car is collected wherever you finish, including the airport, and delivery to Sotogrande is possible on request. To check dates for any of the three convertibles, message us from the contact page or on WhatsApp, and we will reply the same day with availability and a price in writing.
