BMW M8 rental in Marbella: price, power and conditions

A BMW rental in Marbella with MARBIORA means one specific car: the 2025 BMW M8, based in Puerto Banús, at €650 for one day. It makes 625 hp, gets from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and has five seats, which is unusual for a car with those numbers. The rate includes fully comprehensive insurance, free delivery and collection, and 150 km a day.

How much does it cost to rent a BMW M8 in Marbella?

One day in the BMW M8 costs €650. That is the only published rate for this car, so the price for two days, a week or a month is confirmed in writing when you book, before any payment. The same goes for the deposit and for the price of each extra kilometre: both appear in your booking confirmation rather than on the car's listing.

The €650 day rate covers fully comprehensive insurance, delivery and collection in Marbella, Puerto Banús or at the Málaga Airport terminal, a full clean before handover and 150 km. Fuel is separate and follows a full-to-full policy: the car arrives with a full tank and goes back full. The daily rate does not change with the day of the week, so a Saturday costs the same as a Tuesday.

If you are staying for a month, the page on long-term car rental on the Costa del Sol explains how rates work from 30 days. For the M8, that figure also arrives in writing with your quote, on the same day you ask.

What is the BMW M8, and which engine does it have?

The BMW M8
is the most powerful version of the 8 Series, developed by BMW M, the brand's performance division. According to the Wikipedia article on the BMW 8 Series (G15), the range was built at the Dingolfing plant in Germany in three body styles, a coupé, a convertible and a four-door Gran Coupé, and M8 production ended in 2025. The car in Puerto Banús therefore comes from one of the model's final years.

BMW's press release on the M8 Gran Coupé and M8 Competition Gran Coupé describes the engine as a 4.4-litre V8 with M TwinPower Turbo technology and 750 Nm of torque. The gearbox is an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic with Drivelogic. In the fleet listing the car appears with 625 hp, 3.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, petrol and five seats.

How does M xDrive all-wheel drive work?

M xDrive is BMW M's all-wheel-drive system with an Active M Differential. The same press release lists three modes: 4WD, 4WD Sport and 2WD. In 2WD all the drive goes to the rear wheels and stability control is switched off. On open roads, with summer traffic on the A-7 and tarmac that bakes by midday, 4WD is the mode that makes sense; 2WD is best left to people who know exactly what they are doing.

Is the fleet's M8 a BMW M8 Competition?

The MARBIORA listing calls it “BMW M8”, without the word Competition, so we do not claim it is one. What BMW's own figures do show is that 625 hp (460 kW) is the factory output of the M8 Competition, while the M8 without Competition makes 600 hp (441 kW). In the same release BMW quotes 3.2 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h for the Competition Gran Coupé and 3.3 seconds for the M8 Gran Coupé.

The listed figures, 625 hp and 3.2 seconds, match the Competition. If the exact version matters to you, for instance because you are looking for a “BMW M8 Competition in Marbella” for a particular occasion, ask when you book and the answer will come in writing along with the rate. The photos on the page of the BMW M8 in Puerto Banús show the exact car you will get.

Are there other BMW cars for rent on the Costa del Sol?

No. In the Costa del Sol fleet the M8 is the only BMW, and there is no other model from the brand in Marbella or Puerto Banús. If you want a car at the same rate from another make, four more cost €650 for one day, with very different power and seating:

Car Year Power 0 to 100 km/h Seats Base Price for 1 day
BMW M8 2025 625 hp 3.2 s 5 Puerto Banús €650
Audi RS6 2025 630 hp 3.4 s 5 Puerto Banús €650
Audi R8 2022 620 hp 3.1 s 2 Marbella €650
Mercedes-Benz GLE53 AMG 2026 449 hp 4.9 s 5 Marbella €650
Mercedes-Benz G400 2024 330 hp 6.4 s 5 Marbella €650

At the same one-day price, the M8 and the Audi RS6 are the two five-seaters with more than 600 hp, and both leave from Puerto Banús. The Audi R8 is a tenth of a second quicker than the M8 but has only two seats. The G400 is the tall, relaxed option; our article on the G400 vs the G63 AMG in Marbella compares it with its 585 hp sibling.

Puerto Banús, where the M8 and the RS6 start from, is the marina developer José Banús opened in 1970 about 6 km southwest of Marbella. It now has 915 berths, according to the Wikipedia article on Puerto Banús. For you as a renter, the base only tells you where the car sets off from, because delivery is just as free to Marbella and to Málaga Airport.

What does the price include, and what is confirmed when you book?

The M8 rate includes fully comprehensive insurance for any rental length, free delivery and collection, a full clean before handover and 150 km a day. Those 150 km add up to 450 km over three days, 1,050 km a week and 4,500 km a month, the same allowance as every other car in the fleet.

Four figures come in writing before any payment: the rate for your dates, the deposit, the insurance excess and the price of each kilometre above 150 a day. On cars with a set deposit it is €4,000 or €5,000 depending on the model; for the M8 it is agreed when you book. The deposit is blocked on a credit card in the main driver's name and released after the car has been checked. Our guide to how the deposit works when renting a luxury car covers the whole process.

What do you pay on top?

Outside the rate are fuel, kilometres beyond the allowance, and traffic fines and tolls during the rental, which the renter pays together with the admin cost of processing them. All of these charges are written into the rental agreement before you sign, and if it is easier for you, MARBIORA can refuel the car at the pump price.

What can and can't you do with a rented M8?

A 625 hp car tempts you to go looking for corners, and the rental rules set out how far you can take it. They are the same for every car in the Costa del Sol fleet, from the cheapest to the most expensive, and they are written into the agreement you sign at handover:

  • trips to Gibraltar and Portugal are allowed if cleared with the insurer in advance, so mention your route when you book;
  • taking the ferry to Morocco is not allowed with any car;
  • track days, driving courses and any kind of competition use are not allowed, private track days included;
  • only the people named on the agreement may drive, each 25 or older with a licence held for at least three years;
  • a chauffeur can be booked with the M8, with dates, times and route given in advance.

Within those rules the M8 still has plenty of road. The climb from San Pedro Alcántara up to Ronda runs into the hills on long sweeping bends, and a round trip fits inside the 150 km of a single day. If your route includes Gibraltar, say so when you book so the trip can be cleared with the insurer before you set off.

How do you book the BMW M8 in Puerto Banús, step by step?

Booking the M8 follows the same process as the rest of the fleet, and nothing is charged on the website. A request is not yet a booking: nothing is reserved until it is confirmed in writing, and that confirmation arrives on the same day you get in touch:

  1. Choose your dates and check the photos and specs on the BMW M8 page.
  2. Send your request by WhatsApp, phone, email or through the MARBIORA contact page, with the delivery address, the time and the names of all drivers.
  3. Get the written confirmation with the rate, the deposit, the excess and the price per extra kilometre.
  4. Receive the car at your villa, hotel, marina or the Málaga Airport terminal, with a full tank, clean and photographed; the handover takes about ten minutes.
  5. At the end, the car is collected wherever you are and the deposit is released after the check.

If you are flying in, the guide to car delivery at Málaga Airport explains how handover at the terminal works and what to do if your flight is late. In that case, call +370 699 66178 and the same person who confirmed your booking will move the time.

Questions on this topic

The listing for the 2025 BMW M8 shows five seats, so it takes the driver and four passengers. It is one of the few cars in the fleet with more than 600 hp and five seats; the other is the 2025 Audi RS6, also based in Puerto Banús and also €650 for one day.

Only the one-day rate of €650 is published for the M8. The weekly price is worked out for your dates and confirmed in writing before any payment, together with the deposit and the insurance excess. A week always includes 1,050 km, fully comprehensive insurance and free delivery.
