Quick answer

To rent a car in Marbella with MARBIORA, you message the model and dates, get the price in writing the same day, and the car comes to your address. One day starts at €300, with full insurance, delivery and 150 km included. Drivers must be 25 with three years of licence.

Rent a car Marbella: how does it work and what is included?

To rent a car in Marbella with MARBIORA, you send the model and dates by message, get the price in writing the same day, and the car comes to your villa, your hotel, the marina or the Málaga Airport terminal. One day starts at €300 with the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio, including full insurance, delivery and 150 km. Worth knowing before you read on: the whole fleet is premium, and there is no economy range.

How does renting a car in Marbella work, step by step?

A MARBIORA rental has five steps, and you never have to look for a counter. Nothing is paid on the website. A request is not yet a booking either, because the car is only held once we have confirmed it in writing. The minimum rental is one day, and there is no hourly rate.

  1. Pick a model and dates in the fleet, where you can compare up to three cars side by side.
  2. Send the dates, the time, the delivery address and each driver's name by WhatsApp, phone or email.
  3. Get the availability, the total price and the delivery time in writing the same day. The deposit and insurance excess are confirmed before any payment.
  4. On the agreed day, the car arrives with a full tank, clean and photographed. We check the documents, hold the deposit and sign the contract in about ten minutes.
  5. At the end, we collect the car wherever you finish, including Málaga Airport.

Delivery and collection can happen at any hour if agreed in advance. Flight running late? Call, and the same person who confirmed your booking moves the time. You can also take the car at the terminal and hand it back at a villa, or the other way round, for the same price.

Which documents do you need to rent a car in Marbella?

Up to four documents are checked at handover, and the list stays the same for every model and any rental length. Two conditions come first and apply equally to all drivers: you must be 25 or older, and you must have held your licence for at least three years.

  • a driving licence, for each driver;
  • a passport or national ID card, for each driver;
  • a credit card in the main driver's name, for the deposit;
  • an International Driving Permit, if the licence was issued outside the EU.

A licence issued in the EU or EEA is valid in Spain for as long as it is in force, as the DGT page on driving with a foreign licence explains. Visitors from other countries should get the international permit at home before travelling: it lasts one year and only counts alongside your passport and original licence. Not sure about yours? Send a photo by WhatsApp before you fly.

Additional drivers are insured on the same terms as the main driver. A 23-year-old cannot rent, but someone else in the group who meets both conditions can be named as main driver, with the card in their own name. Our guide to the documents needed to rent a car in Marbella goes through each case.

What does the price include, and what do you pay separately?

Every MARBIORA rate includes full insurance for any rental length, delivery and collection, a complete clean, a single phone number for the whole rental and 150 km a day, which adds up to 1,050 km a week and 4,500 km a month. Delivery is free in Marbella, Puerto Banús and at Málaga Airport. Sotogrande and other addresses are on request when you book.

The insurance excess is
the share of any damage cost that the renter pays under the full insurance. It depends on the model and appears in your confirmation before any payment. The EU's Your Europe portal points out that there are no specific EU rules on car rental, so read what damage your cover includes before you sign.

Four things sit outside the price. Charges that depend on what happens during the rental, such as extra kilometres or refuelling, are set out in the contract before you sign it, so you know the rate in advance. The list is short, but extra kilometres can add up quickly:

  • fuel: the car arrives full and goes back full, or MARBIORA refuels it at the pump price;
  • kilometres above the daily 150, at €4 each on the Audi RS3 Sedan and the Range Rover Sport;
  • traffic fines, plus the administrative cost of handling them;
  • road tolls, plus the same administrative cost.

On the Costa del Sol, check tolls before you set off. The AP-7 charges between Torremolinos and Guadiaro, the stretch that passes Marbella, according to the Spanish Wikipedia entry on the Mediterranean motorway, while the A-7 dual carriageway runs alongside it toll free. So your choice of road also ends up in the budget.

How much do the CLE Cabrio, RS3 Sedan and Range Rover Sport cost?

These three models cost between €300 and €500 for one day. The CLE Cabrio has the lowest one-day rate on the coast, and that is the only figure published for it: its multi-day price and deposit are confirmed in writing. The pages for the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio, the Audi RS3 Sedan and the Range Rover Sport carry the remaining details.

Car Year Seats Power 0 to 100 km/h Base Price for 1 day Deposit
Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio 2026 4 381 hp 4.7 s Puerto Banús €300 In your booking confirmation
Audi RS3 Sedan 2025 5 400 hp 3.8 s Marbella €350 €4,000
Range Rover Sport 2024 5 530 hp 4.5 s Marbella €500 €4,000

Does the daily rate drop on a longer rental?

Yes, though not by the same amount on every model. From 30 days, the RS3 Sedan costs 57% less per day than on a one-day rental, while the Range Rover Sport comes down by 30%. The table shows all six published price bands for both:

Rental length Audi RS3 Sedan Range Rover Sport
1 day €350 €500
2 days, per day €300 €500
3 to 6 days, per day €275 €450
7 to 14 days, per day €250 €425
15 to 30 days, per day €250 €425
30 days or more, per day €150 €350

A week in the RS3 Sedan comes to €1,750 and a month to €4,500. The Range Rover Sport works out at €2,975 a week and €10,500 a month. Fuel is on top of those sums. The €4,000 deposit is not part of them, because it is held on the card and never charged.

How is premium car hire different from a normal rent a car?

Three things change most: who may drive, what gets held on your card, and how the car reaches you. The RACE guide to car rental requirements, from Spain's motoring club, says the usual minimum for a conventional car is 21 years old with one year of licence, rising to 25 or older and two or more years for high-end or sports models.

Item Conventional car, per RACE MARBIORA
Minimum age 21, the most common rule 25
Years with a licence One, the most common rule 3
Deposit Varies by company, vehicle and cover €4,000 or €5,000 by model, or in your confirmation
Kilometres Some rates unlimited, others capped with a surcharge 150 km a day, and €4 or €5 per extra km where that rate is set
Insurance Third-party liability and often damage cover with an excess Full insurance included, with an excess by model

Two differences do not fit in a table. The first is delivery: the car comes to your address and the paperwork takes about ten minutes, with no queue. The second is ownership, since every car belongs to a private owner and MARBIORA runs the rates and the rental, with one person handling your booking, the handover and any change. You can also ask for a chauffeur with any model.

How do the deposit and the included kilometres work?

The deposit is held on the main driver's credit card, is not charged, and is released once the car has been returned and checked. It depends on the model and not on the rental length, so it stays the same for a day or a month. Someone else's card will not do, because the card and the licence must belong to the same person. Our guide to the car rental deposit in Marbella covers the full process.

The 150 km a day equals 450 km over three days, and the limit is the same across the fleet. On the RS3 Sedan and the Range Rover Sport, each extra kilometre costs €4, which means going 100 km over adds €400 to the bill. Add up your route before you book.

What is not allowed during the rental?

Track days, driving courses and any use in competition are banned with every car in the fleet, private track days included. So is the ferry to Morocco. Gibraltar and Portugal are possible if the trip is arranged with the insurer beforehand, so mention your route when you book. Only the people named in the contract may drive, and the car cannot be sublet.

When is this type of rental the wrong choice?

In some situations MARBIORA is simply not the right option, and it is better to find out before you write than outside your hotel. Each case below follows from conditions that apply equally across the whole coastal fleet, so check them before you pick a model:

  • every driver is under 25 or has held a licence for less than three years;
  • nobody in the group who can drive has a credit card in their own name;
  • you only need a car for a few hours, because the minimum is one day;
  • you want an economy car, because one rental day on the coast starts at €300.

If none of those apply, send the model and dates through the MARBIORA contact page or by WhatsApp. Availability and the rate are confirmed in writing the same day. If we later could not provide the booked car, we would offer an equivalent or better one, or refund everything you had paid.

Questions on this topic

No. Every car in the fleet is premium, and there is no economy range. On the coast, one day starts at €300 with the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabrio, followed by €350 for the Audi RS3 Sedan. The rate covers the same service on every model, including the least expensive ones.

MARBIORA's address is Av. de Lola Flores, S/N, Nueva Andalucía, 29660 Marbella, but the whole rental is handled by message and phone. The car comes to your villa, your hotel, the marina or the Málaga Airport terminal, and the handover takes about ten minutes.

No. The website does not take payments. The price, how and when it is paid, the deposit and the insurance excess are all confirmed before the rental starts, and the contract is signed at handover. A request does not hold the car until you have written confirmation.

Usually, yes. Notice periods and any possible charges are set out in the rental contract. To ask for a different delivery time or an extra day, the phone is the fastest channel. If MARBIORA cannot provide the booked car, it offers an equivalent or better one, or refunds everything you paid.

Yes, with any model in the fleet. Ask when you book and give the dates, hours and route so that a driver can be assigned. The chauffeur's terms are confirmed in writing along with the rate, before any payment, in the same way as the rest of the rental.
